Flat rack approved by DNV GL
KAMI delivers offshore DNV GL approved flat rack
Our black steel engineering and production departments worked together to complete this project from A-Z. An exciting project with construction, FEM calculation, design approval and production of the steel structure, which we were awarded as we could handle the complete delivery!
KAMI has delivered everything, and based on the customer’s specification, we have taken care of the design, FEM calculations and the contact and approval via the classification society – DNV GL. After design approval, we manufactured the steel structure with DNV GL monitoring the production on an ongoing basis.
After delivery, the flat rack has been used offshore to transport equipment from land to TPére(Transition Piece) in connection with offshore wind farms.
Construction
- Construction of flat rack after clarification of customer concept/specification
- Production optimized in collaboration with KAMI’s production department
- Performing FEM calculations and preparing a calculation report
- Preparation of the production basis
- Design approved by DNV GL
- Preparation of all relevant quality documentation.
Production
- KAMI’s black steel manufacturing section has produced the steel structure.
- Processes include cutting, CNC machining, welding and assembly.
- The steel contract has been verified with a survey by DNV GL and NDT has been performed.
- Load test in the presence of DNV GL
- Surface treatment – metallization
- The delivery comes with MRB (Manufacturing Record Book) and includes all material certificates, welding certificates, NDT reports, measurement reports and the like.
Delivery
- The project has been delivered with final certificates for the individual flat racks – the certificates are issued by DNV GL.
- An exciting project with all facets – where all of KAMI’s competencies came into play.
